Müpa is a Swiss flooring company founded by Kurt Müller in 1991 and is now under the direction of Daniel Ziegler. I custom designed the letters and executed the redesign of the Müpa logo during my time at the graphic studio Brunnergraf.
Some of the considerations put into this redesign were aimed at simplifying it until it evolved into its own typographic mark. By shaping the letterforms so that all letters repeat the round geometric shapes, this goal was finally achieved.

The logo and tagline were carefully designed on a grid to achieve internal coherence. Additionally, this was done to define the clear space around the logo. Clear space refers to the area around the logo (here delineated with stippled lines) where other objects and logos are not permitted to encroach.
Key visuals and a special logo within the key visuals were also designed. The concept of the key visuals was to repeat the round shapes and work with ‘cut’ out lines resembling lines in a floor.
